There’s A Quirky Goat Festival Happening In Arkansas And You’ll Absolutely Want To Go
Let’s face it, Arkansas is filled with tons of events unique to our state. And best of all, they attract thousands of spectators every year. Some of our award-winning festivals are nationally recognized, and they are filled with lots of quirky, family-friendly activities. One such festival that you’ll absolutely love is the one-of-a-kind Goat Festival held in Perryville. Mark your calendars folks, you’re about to have the most fun this coming fall.
On October 1, the Goat Festival will return to Perryville City Park.
The park is located at 801 Highway 10 (South Fourche Avenue) and the festival kicks off at 10 a.m.
This fun festival is for goat lovers of Arkansas who believe their goat is the G.O.A.T. So, get ready for this one-day event that celebrates everything about these adorable animals.
If you’re a goat parent, then dress your kid in the best costume you can find. Of course, matching costumes are highly encouraged.
This free event will attract hundreds of goat lovers who’ll be showing off their beloved kids in the different activities.
They include goat parades, goat costume contests, and a goat lingerie show, just to name a few. Be sure to come prepared because the competition will be fierce.
And if you have a goat who ain’t about that costume life, there will be a parade for them to strut their stuff as well.
In addition, there will be a rest area set up for the goats. So, even if you don’t own one of these lovable creatures, you can come and make new friends.
Along with the parades and costume contests, there will be goat races as well as various goat competitions.
Additionally, the (human) kids will love the face painting and goat tattoos. Plus, there will be tons of vendors selling everything from goat jewelry to goat merch.
But the fun doesn’t stop there. You’ll enjoy live music from local bands playing goat-related jams.
And no festival is complete without food, right? So, come hungry and enjoy the mouthwatering fare like BBQ, burgers, catfish, sweet treats, and more.
Because there's so much happening, goats are required to be on their leash at all times. And y’all, unfortunately, the pups gotta sit this event out.
Lastly, registration is not required but it’s encouraged, so that there can be an accurate count for the goat contests.
This festival might just be one of the quirkiest festivals in Arkansas this year. And as one reader asked, “where else can you see goats in costume?”
So, bring the family, except the dog, and have a goat-astic time. It’s the one festival in Arkansas that you’ll absolutely love.
