The World’s Largest Windchimes Are Right Here In Arkansas And They’re Amazing
Eureka Springs, Arkansas, is home to the world's largest windchimes, located at Celestial Windz Harmonic Bizaar.
There's no doubt that Eureka Springs is Arkansas' most artistic and unique town. So of course the world's largest windchimes can be found here. Let's see and listen to this quirky work of art.
Eureka Springs has many defining features that make it the quirkiest city in Arkansas.
One of those features is the world's largest windchimes. The beloved attraction is now housed in Celestial Windz Harmonic Bizaar, which is located at 381 Highway 23 S., Eureka Springs, AR 72632.
Celestial Windz has all sorts of interesting wares including holistic medicine, crafted jewelry and, of course, windchimes.
They also carry Tibetan singing bowls and dinner bells for all your musical needs.
The largest of these windchimes is quite an impressive sight.
The work of art holds the Guinness World Record for the largest set of windchimes at 35 ft. and 10 in. They beat the previous record by more than double.
Ranaga Farbiarz created the windchimes in 2004.
They took six months to make and are tuned to the Oriental pentatonic scale. The largest and smallest tubes are one octave apart and all together the chimes sound downright otherworldly.
The chimes used to be a roadside attraction but misfortune struck a couple of years ago.
The tree that held the chimes died but the actual chimes are still safe and sound.
Not to worry though, the chimes can still be seen and rang inside Celestial Windz.
They hang proudly in the center of the store surrounded by smaller chimes that can be taken home. Just be sure to call ahead to check the store hours for the day since they do vary. You can also make an appointment to ensure your Eureka Springs trip will be complete with a sound of the chimes.
This article wouldn't be doing the chimes justice without a clip of their peaceful sound:
