The Warren Bisbee (Copper Queen) Mine was first excavated in the 1880s.

Decades of erosion have caused the mine’s portal to shift and fill with debris.

It doesn’t look too promising from the outside, but the inside is a different story.

After having to slide on their backs to enter the mines, the explorers discovered a vast system of open tunnels.

From the cracks in the floor of the mine, you can tell the tunnel was at one time a very wet place.

A strange white mold has begun to blanket some areas of the mine.

One of the tunnels led to an inner chamber where something totally unexpected was discovered.
