Christkindlmarkt is a type of holiday market that occurs throughout Europe with a variety of vendors, German goods, food and fun for the whole family. Alaska Christkindlmarkt is hosted by Alaska's only German language immersion school, The Rilke Schule German School of Arts and Sciences, a public Charter School for Kindergarten to 8th Grade students.

German crafts and Christmas decorations are handmade by the students and volunteers and sold at the market, alongside a variety of local vendors with their crafts and artwork.
It's a busy, hustling, bustling market with lots to smell, taste, see and do. The whole family will love this German cultural experience.
There are lots of ornaments and toys at this family friendly school event. There is even special Kinderpunsch, a punch holiday beverage for the kiddos.
The local German Restaurant called West Berlin will be there with authentic Bavarian pretzels and other German treats.
Watch craftspeople at work making the good they sell at the market for a touch of old world charm.
You'll want to see all the unique hand crafted items at the market and admire the details put into these classically constructed German Christmas ornaments.
Of course, there are traditional Nutcrackers everywhere.
Sleigh rides are out front, and they keep going throughout the day for your holiday delight.
So join the Parent Teacher Organization at the annual Alaska Christkindlmarkt to support the Rilke Shule German School in Anchorage. It's sure to be an exciting, educational and fun event for the whole family.
