You’ll Never Forget A Visit To This One Alabama City

Many wonderful cities are located in Alabama, including Decatur. Decatur is one of Alabama's most beautiful and historic cities, and it offers a great variety of things to see and do. You'll never forget a visit to this one Alabama city.

Decatur, Alabama is located in Morgan County. It was incorporated in 1821 and has a population of nearly 60,000 residents.

This Alabama city is situated on the banks of Wheeler Lake, along the Tennessee River. It's appropriately nicknamed "The River City."

Decatur is home to the historic Old State Bank, which is believed to be Alabama's oldest standing bank building (ca. 1833). It's currently operating as a museum.

A variety of festivals are held in Decatur each year, including the Alabama Jubilee Hot Air Balloon Classic. This year marks the balloon festival's 40th anniversary, and it's scheduled to take place during Memorial Day Weekend, May 27-28, 2017. The event is FREE!

To cool off during a hot summer day, there's no better place to be than at Decatur's Point Mallard Park. Point Mallard Park is home to America's first wave pool.
