Where are the best places for stargazing in Delaware?  

Delaware is a gorgeous little state, but don’t let its small size fool you – it's big on amazing views, including amazing views of the night sky. There are lots of places for stargazing in Delaware, and we have many favorites. Check out Blackbird State Forest, where you’ll be able to see stars for days (figuratively speaking, anyway). Many of the best state parks in Delaware are ideal places for stargazing, too, like Brandywine Creek State Park. Anywhere it’s nice and dark is going to be perfect – and luckily for us, Delaware’s home to plenty of nice, dark spots.  

Where can I find the darkest skies for stargazing in Delaware?  

Your best bet for finding the darkest skies for stargazing in Delaware is by looking for clear, dark skies far away from any city influence. You’ll often find these places deep in nature, in state and/or National Parks, and even in some places you’ve just got to find by exploring (or poking around on satellite). Always allow yourself about 20-30 minutes for your eyes to adjust to the dark, and then look up: the Delaware night sky is nothing short of awesome. Be sure to check out some of the amazing meteor showers in Delaware that occur every year, and keep in mind that that’s just the beginning! This state, and its night sky, is truly magical.
