Built in 1754, Captain Grant's is an extraordinary piece of Connecticut's history. Located in Preston, the gorgeous bed and breakfast once sheltered Continental soldiers and provided a safe haven for runaway slaves.

Today, the inn provides wonderful accommodations to travelers looking for a historical spot for an overnight getaway. However, some guests have reported that they've had unexpected companions, especially in one particular room of the inn.

The Adelaide Room (pictured below), is apparently a hot spot for paranormal activity. A guest reported seeing a woman wearing colonial-era clothing with two children. Others have heard random knockings, the TV turns on and off sporadically, and have seen the shower curtain fall to the floor with no explanation.

It was recently on the popular Netflix show, 28 Days Haunted where paranormal investigators spend some time in some of America’s most haunted locations.

The owners describe these reported spirits as being protective and friendly, even if a little spooky. Many guests stay at the inn without experiencing any haunting activity.

Captain Grant's is open year-round, offering accommodations to those visiting the nearby casinos and other attractions. It also provides a (mostly) quiet escape - unless the ghosts show themselves.
