The Unassuming Connecticut Restaurant Where You Can Pull Over And Have An Amazing Meal

When looking for a great place to dine in the Nutmeg State, it’s tempting to go with somewhere eye-catching. We’re naturally drawn to places that are bold, with stupendous views, or flashy exteriors. Though they’re often delicious, concentrating on these types of places will have you ignoring many of our more humble, unassuming restaurants in Connecticut that also offer up incredible meals. One recent reader nomination fits into that category splendidly: Sarah’s On Main in Portland. This cozy little spot doesn’t look like much from the outside, but it serves a stellar breakfast and lunch.

It's not exactly a hole in the wall, but it's very easy to miss this spot in a converted house right at the corner of Main Street and Commerce Street.

The homey theme continues when you get indoors. You'll feel like you're entering an old friend's house for a cozy meal. Between the friendly service and the warm atmosphere, this is such a welcoming place.

Sarah's on Main serves up breakfast and lunch, and you can get breakfast all day long. This is some of the best breakfast in Connecticut.
