Walk into Barker Character,
Comic and Cartoon
Museum and you'll immediately feel like a kid again. Home to more than 80,000 antique and vintage toys, this museum in Cheshire recreates childhood for the many generations of its visitors.
Step inside and you won't know where to look first. What might catch your eye is the hundreds of metal lunch boxes hanging from the ceiling sporting all of your favorite characters.
Each display is meticulously organized showing you how the toys evolved through the years. From Popeye to Pink Panther, this place has it all.

The very oldest toys in the museum's collection date back to 1873 and are powered by gravity. These cast iron elephants (pictured below) were manufactured in Bridgeport. These ramp walkers still work today, plodding down an incline just as they were designed to do.
Of course, you'll find Disney items galore. Check out Mickey Mouse in his early years from the late 1920s.
Pose for a photo with the more modern larger-than-life Simpson family. There is fun around every corner in this cartoon museum.
Browse the eye-catching displays of puppets, tin toys, games, and advertisements. As you walk through, childhood memories that you've long forgotten will come right to the surface.
Outside the museum, you'll find plenty of characters on the property. Lucy's lemonade stand, the Jetsons, the cast from Scooby Doo, and many others are ready for picture taking.
