One of the grandest of all is Chris Mark Castle, a private residence in Woodstock that can be booked for events. This absolutely luxurious building is architecturally stunning and looks straight out of the pages of a fantasy novel. Check it out:

Chris Mark Castle sits atop an artificial island and certainly makes you look twice. At 22,377 square feet, it's massive and certainly unlike any other home in the state.

Even from afar, this castle will make it seem as though it's Hogwarts in Connecticut. If you're a Harry Potter fan, it's a must-visit.

Though styled after medieval buildings, construction on this Connecticut castle was completed in 2010. The project was a labor of love for Chris Mark and his then-wife Mary Galt.

Those who helped build the home came from all over the world, including Poland, Ukraine, Guatemala, and Russia.

The couple's two children dreamed of being fairy tale princesses, and unlike most little girls, they were given a real castle to play pretend in!

One of the most magnificent features of the Mary Galt Castle is the three-level glass floor. You really have to see it to believe it.

The castle has lived multiple lives over the last decade. It's served as the family's private residence, a small zoo, and is now an event venue.

One of the most majestic castles in Connecticut, Chris Mark Castle is an idyllic setting for any event that deserves that fairy tale touch.

It's available for rent for weddings, parties, video filming, and other occasions.

The inside of the house is just as luxurious as you'd expect. The furnishings consist of antiques from all over the world and pieces that were made specifically for the castle.

This is one fairy tale destination in Connecticut that you really have to see to believe.
