There are plenty of world-class ski resorts surrounding the endearingly quaint town of Frisco, and it's even been called "the epicenter of Summit County" and "Main Street to the Rockies." But next time you're looking for winter fun for the whole family, head on down to the Frisco Adventure Park and feel like a kid again.
The tubing hill is open 10am-6pm daily and 9am-6pm during the holidays. (Note: Tubing reservations are required, so secure your spot before you go. Walk-ins are only accepted if space is available.)
After your adventures, hunker down in the luxurious 4,000-square-foot Frisco Day Lodge, which boasts a great room with a cozy fireplace, as well as a cafe serving up warm chili, hot dogs, nachos, hot chocolate, coffee, and other snacks.
The Day Lodge also serves up beverages for the grown-ups, including beer, wine, and liquor. Guests can view the tubing hill from the warmth of the cozy lodge or snag a seat outside and enjoy the show in the Summit sun. (The Day Lodge is open daily from 9am-5pm.)
But the fun doesn't stop there! Just steps away from the Adventure Park is the Frisco Nordic Center, a first-class facility offering skate skiing, cross-country skiing, and snowshoeing, all with stunning views of surrounding peaks in every direction.
With roughly 17 miles of cross-country ski trails and nearly 13 miles of snowshoe trails, you can play all day at the Frisco Nordic Center. Click here for details on pricing and products. (The Nordic Center is open daily from 9am–5pm.)
What's that you say? Well, the gist is that you can tumble, bounce, and smash other tumblers in what are essentially ginormous, 9-foot human hamster balls.
You can even sail the Zorb over the snow and knock down 12-foot-tall bowling pins! Tumble Bubbles are proven fun for everyone and are located at the south-west corner of the Frisco Day Lodge.
...on a mule-team-driven sleigh! The fellows at Two Below Zero Sleigh Rides offer magical journeys through the scenic Frisco Peninsula, where you'll enjoy spectacular views of the surrounding mountains as you snuggle beneath a cozy, warm blanket.
How about a Scenic Hot Cocoa Ride with hot chocolate, peppermint schnapps, fresh baked cookies, and live music? Or perhaps a Dinner Sleigh Ride, which includes a 3-course dinner and live music show? You can even secure an intimate Private Sleigh Ride to a forest wonderland where you'll enjoy spiked hot cocoa with your main squeeze beneath the starry Summit skies. More Info
