Are you ready for your next bucket list adventure in Arkansas? If you’re an outdoor enthusiast, chances are, you’ve explored many waterfalls in the state. But have you driven through Car Wash Falls in the Ozarks? This little-known natural wonder in Arkansas is the only of its kind in the world and it is worthy of your list.
There are lots of roadside waterfalls that require no hiking, but Car Wash Falls is the only one, where you remain in your car for the experience.
This unique waterfall is located on County Road 5881 in Hagarville, Arkansas.
Though there is no hiking required to witness this gorgeous cascade, it’s not easy to get to. In fact, you’ll need an ATV, a Jeep, or a 4x4 vehicle.
The drive to this hidden gem is unbelievable. On the gravel road heading to the falls, you’ll meander alongside Big Piney Creek.
Plus, along the way, you’ll witness abundant views of the mountains, gorgeous foliage, as well as towering bluffs.
The road is winding and narrow, so proceed with the utmost caution.
Prior to meandering alongside the creek, you’ll cross an old bridge over Big Piney Creek.
The views are also spectacular, so you’ll want to drive slowly to bask in all the beauty.
Depending on which direction you’re traveling from, you may need to cross a stream to get to this unique cascade.
The entire drive to get to this treasure is so worth it because the forest offers so many different terrains.
Of course, like many waterfalls in the Ozarks, it is best to visit after a good rain. So, be sure to plan your trip accordingly.
Once you make it to Car Wash Falls, prepare for the most amazing treat. By far, this will be one of the coolest waterfalls you’ve ever seen.
As you drive through the incredible falls, it’s wise to have your windows and sunroofs closed, just like you would at a car wash. You can see why the falls got its name, from the water flowing over the 20-foot bluff.
Also, it sounds like a car wash as the water pitter patters on top of your vehicle. It is safe to say, you’ll literally be getting your car washed and want to take some really cool pics in the process.
For an even cooler experience, you can plan a visit when the weather is freezing outside. The falls will be frozen, giving you an entirely different perspective.
During a deep freeze, the path will be slippery and impossible to cross.
But you can totally get out of your vehicle and snap some incredible pics standing next to the frozen waterfall.
Of course, it’s best to pair this adventure with other explorations in the Ozarks, as it doesn’t last for very long.
Luckily, there are over 10 incredible waterfalls in the area that you can also explore on the same day.
Pam’s Grotto is one that you shouldn’t miss.
