Since fall has officially arrived and cooler weather will allegedly arrive eventually, you might have an eye toward spending a little more time outdoors without the searing sun on your back. You’ll also want to be looking for unique ways of experiencing the incredible fall foliage. One unique way of getting outdoors and experiencing the fall color is by hiking around a lake. Lake Atalanta is located in Rogers, and it’s just about the perfect place to hike in the fall.
Lake Atalanta can be found just east of downtown Rogers on Walnut Street.
As far as lakes go, Lake Atalanta is fairly small. All told, the lake is just 30 acres of water.
The trails of Lake Atalanta, however, are fairly extensive. You’ll find 4 miles of hard surface trails and 10 miles of soft surface multiuse trails.
Because the trails are so well-maintained and the lake is so beautiful, the trails of Lake Atalanta has become a popular place for hobby cyclists and serious mountain bikers. It’s not hard to see the appeal.
The lake becomes extra beautiful when the leaves turn, as evidenced by this photo:
So if you’re looking for a place to unwind while you enjoy the scenic beauty of autumn in the Ozarks, Lake Atalanta is one place to consider for your fall to-do list.
There’s simply nothing like getting to see the fall color twice—once on the trees, and once in the reflection of the mirror-still lake.
You'll find more fall activities at this link. Seriously, though, you need to travel to this small town and take this road trip on or around October 22.
