Things To Do In Hot Springs, Arkansas

What are some of the best things to do in Hot Springs, Arkansas?

  • Soak: Some may argue that there's no better place to be than the hot springs in Arkansas. Historic Bathhouse Row offers access to the medicinal warm natural pools. The living history offers eight bathhouse buildings that were built between 1892 and 1923: The Hale, Maurice, Buckstaff, Fordyce, Superior, Quapaw, Ozark, and Lamar. Only two are still open, including Buckstaff Hot Springs Bathhouse and Quapaw Baths and Spa. The area, including decorative fountains and the Grand Promenade, was designated as a National Historic Landmark District in 1987.
  • The Arlington Hotel: While traveling through Hot Springs, a visit, or better yet an overnight stay at the historic Arlington Resort Hotel & Spa is in order. For one, it is the largest hotel in Arkansas offering 500 rooms and suites, a grand hotel lobby, a bar, a luxurious Venetian Dining Room, and an elegant Crystal Ballroom just to name a few amenities. It is also famously known for being the home away from home for the infamous mobster Al Capone. He stayed in room 443 every time he visited the grand space, and rented the rest of the fourth floor for his special guests. Now called The Capone Room, the specialty suite has limited availability.
  • Hot Springs Mountain Scenic Drive: The beauty of Hot Springs National Park is highlighted by driving to one of six scenic overlooks. Pack a picnic and take in the horizon during sunrise or sunset. Wade through the wildflowers or breathe in the crisp fall air while enjoying the vibrant colors. One is Hot Springs Mountain Drive which you'll find at the end of Fountain Street off Central Avenue. The lovely historic drive was built as a carriage road in the 1880s with switchbacks guiding to the top. Here a picnic area, the Pagoda overlook, and the Hot Springs Mountain Tower are available.
