This Short Hike Takes You To Some Of The Most Beautiful And Underrated Waterfalls In All Of Arkansas

Discover a two-mile trail in Arkansas that lets you walk behind four stunning waterfalls, including Magnolia Falls.

Do you ever find yourself daydreaming about waterfalls near me? It's only natural (pun intended); the Natural State is home to some 200 amazing waterfalls, in fact! The Buffalo National River has endless opportunities for adventures but some outshine others. Everyone knows to hike to Hemmed-In Hollow, paddle through Skull Bluff, or stay the night at the Buffalo Point Campground; however, there's another trail you need to add to your Buffalo bucket list.

Let's venture to the Upper District and explore a short trail that's filled with gorgeous falls. This adventure is sure to satisfy your "waterfalls near me" queries!

Arkansas is filled with beautiful waterfalls hikes but this particular one is something special.

It's not every day you find a trail that lets you walk behind not one, but four gorgeous falls. What's even better, this trail is only two miles long.

The trail's main feature is Magnolia Falls.

The Magnolia Falls Trail is located south of Mossville, off Highway 21. Use these coordinates to reach the parking area for the trail.

But the trail certainly isn't finished after you've reached Magnolia Falls, continue on to see three other marvelous waterfalls.

Continue to follow the trail into the canyon to reach the other falls. The 33-ft. tall Woods Boys Falls will be the first one you see. Although the hike isn't difficult, this wouldn't be a bad place to sit and enjoy the scenery for a while.

Keep following the creek to reach Stahle Falls next.

You'll need to do a bit of backtracking to come back around to the base of the falls. It's nearly double the size of Woods Boys Falls at 63 feet.

The last waterfall you need to visit is the Hadlock Cascades.

Named for the late waterfall chaser David Hadlock, the waterfall was officially named in 2010. This portion of the trail really feels like a hidden oasis, especially in the colorful springtime.

This short and sweet hike is just one more that you need to add to your next Buffalo trip.

Before hitting the trail we do recommend reading this blog, it has the GPS coordinates for each waterfall and helpful tips. The hike is family-friendly but because of the slippery rocks and waterfall bluffs, we don't suggest bringing small children.

We would love to see your photos of any of these waterfalls in our Facebook Group, Arkansas Nature Lovers. You should join for your chance to be featured and to discover why there’s nothing better than Arkansas’ stunning nature.

If you'd like to feel like you're on a completely different planet for your next adventure, try one of these wild trails.
