This Short Hike Takes You To Some Of The Most Beautiful And Underrated Waterfalls In All Of Arkansas
The Buffalo National River has endless opportunity for adventures but some outshine others. Everyone knows to hike to Hemmed-In Hollow, paddle through Skull Bluff, or stay the night at the Buffalo Point Campground; however, there’s another trail you need to add to your Buffalo bucket list. Let’s venture to the Upper District and explore a short trail that’s filled with gorgeous falls.
Arkansas is filled with beautiful waterfalls hikes but this particular one is something special.
Continue to follow the trail into the canyon to reach the other falls. The 33-ft. tall Woods Boys Falls will be the first one you see. Although the hike isn't difficult, this wouldn't be a bad place to sit and enjoy the scenery for a while.
Keep following the creek to reach Stahle Falls next.
Named for the late waterfall chaser David Hadlock, the waterfall was officially named in 2010. This portion of the trail really feels like a hidden oasis, especially in the colorful springtime.
This short and sweet hike is just one more that you need to add to your next Buffalo trip.
Before hitting the trail we do recommend reading this blog, it has the GPS coordinates for each waterfall and helpful tips. The hike is family-friendly but because of the slippery rocks and waterfall bluffs, we don't suggest bringing small children.
We would love to see your photos of any of these waterfalls in our Facebook Group, Arkansas Nature Lovers. You should join for your chance to be featured (like Brennen Duffield today) and to discover why there’s nothing better than Arkansas’ stunning nature.
If you’d like to feel like you’re on a completely different planet for your next adventure, try one of these wild trails.
