Driving by you wouldn’t guess it but Burl’s Country Smokehouse is famous for something other than great barbecue. This little pit stop near Royal creates the biggest and most delicious cinnamon rolls you’ll ever see.
This unsuspecting smokehouse is actually home to the biggest cinnamon rolls in the state.
You'll find Burl's Country Smokehouse between Mt. Ida and Royal at 10176 Albert Pike Rd., Royal, AR 71968.
But before you head into the snack shack, you'll want to explore the quirky collection of neighboring buildings
You'll find old barns, cabins, a train depot, and an outhouse.
There's also a jail in the midst of the historic buildings.

The quirkiness doesn't end after entering Burl's either.
All sorts of oddities line the store including antiques for sale and a stuffed hunter deer.
Now you could just get a cinnamon roll and be on your way, but that wouldn't be doing the smokehouse justice.
After all, Burl's certainly knows how to do meats. Dine on a smoked ham sandwich or loaded smoked brisket nachos. You'll definitely want to get some of their jerky and smoked cheese for the rest of your roadtrip, too.
