Westside Lilo’s Cafe In Arizona Is Off The Beaten Path But So Worth The Journey

Westside Lilo’s Cafe in Seligman, Arizona, offers a nostalgic dining experience with a mix of classic diner and German fare along Historic Route 66.

Arizona is full of delicious and iconic foods. The heart and soul - and the stomach - of Arizona can be found in our tiniest towns, and Seligman is no exception. Known as "the Mother Town of the Mother Road," this Route 66 outpost is home to fewer than 1,000 people. It's also where you'll find Westside Lilo's Cafe, one of the best small-town restaurants in Arizona. Serving up a mix of classic diner and German fare, the roadside stop in Arizona is so worth the trip.

Located along Historic Route 66, Westside Lilo's Cafe is an established eatery that first opened as a hobby shop in 1954.

Family-owned and operated since the very beginning, the restaurant is popular among locals and travelers alike.

Inside, the atmosphere is about as kitschy as it gets, with Route 66 memorabilia covering the walls.

Dining here is a truly special experience. Not only will you leave with a full belly, but also, the nostalgic charm promises to make your heart swell with delight.

The cult following Westside Lilo's has garnered over the years attracts people to the restaurant, but the incredible food is what turns passersby into regulars.

If you're stopping in for breakfast, expect to see hearty helpings of scrambled eggs, hash browns, pancakes, and other classics like breakfast burritos and biscuits with gravy. Certain breakfast items are served all day, so you can indulge your cravings from morning 'til night.

On the menu for lunch and dinner are chuckwagon favorites like chicken-fried steak, liver and onions, and a variety of burgers and sandwiches.

Sides include soup, salad, coleslaw, French fries, mashed potatoes, and potato salad. Baked potatoes are available after 5 p.m. There are also a few German entrees, such as bratwurst and schnitzel, as an homage to Lilo's (the owner) home country.

Dessert is an absolute must, regardless of how full you are.

Lilo makes these plate-sized cinnamon rolls from scratch every morning, and the gooey center will make you want to polish off the whole thing in one sitting.

Equally famous (and equally massive) are the carrot cake slices, complete with a thick schmear of cream cheese frosting and a few walnuts for good measure.

Other desserts include pie, black forest cake, strawberry torte, white chocolate raspberry cake, and New York-style cheesecake (with seasonal flavors available on a rotating basis.)

Address: 22855 AZ-66, Seligman, AZ 86337.

Hours are 7 a.m. until 8 p.m. daily, and Happy Hour is from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m.
