What's better than a slice of pizza? A slice of pizza the size of your face, of course. Sal's Pizza serves up hand-tossed pies that weigh a whopping three pounds, and each slice is absolutely gigantic.
Located on the ASU campus, Sal's Pizza is a local eatery straight out of Boston's iconic North End.
You'll find the restaurant at 922 East Apache Boulevard, Suite 101, Tempe, AZ 85281.
Far from an ordinary pizzeria, Sal's dishes out 19-inch pies that weigh three pounds each.
Store hours are 11 a.m. until 10 p.m. on Monday through Thursday and from 11 a.m. until 12 a.m. on Friday & Saturday.
Upon entrance, your eyes will immediately be drawn to the glass cases full of hand-tossed pizza.
The dough is made fresh each day using only the highest quality ingredients, and you can really taste the difference.
Either build your own pizza or opt for one of Sal's famous specialty pies.
If you go with the latter, options include meatball & ricotta, buffalo chicken, Hawaiian, and many other mouthwatering choices.
The pizzas are cut into four slices each, and one slice is the equivalent of two normal slices.
One thing's for sure: you'll need to bring along a huge appetite!
If you're feeding a smaller crowd, 14-inch pizzas are also available.
You can also get pizza by the slice, and each slice is one-fourth of a 19-inch pie.
Additional menu items include calzones, salads, and sides like garlic bread and breadsticks.
