There are countless scenic drives to choose from across Arizona, but the Oak Creek Canyon scenic drive is easily one of our favorites. Measuring in at just two hours of drive time and less than 90 miles, this drive will take you through some of the state’s prettiest scenery.

Located just south of Flagstaff, this scenic loop drive meanders south along Arizona 89A through Oak Creek Canyon, Sedona, and the Village of Oak Creek, and then north along Interstate 17 through the Coconino National Forest.

Around every turn, you'll find some of Arizona's prettiest scenery, from unique rock formations to lush forests and everything in between.

This scenic drive is loaded with overlooks, picnic areas, swimming holes, and hiking trails, but if there is only one place you stop, make it the Oak Creek Canyon Vista.

Known for its unique and colorful rock formations, Oak Creek Canyon is a smaller cousin of the Grand Canyon known around the world for its spectacular scenery.

As you drive through Sedona — easily one of Arizona’s most scenic towns — stop for lunch and admire the surrounding landscape for a while.

Descending and ascending a breathtaking series of switchbacks, this is one scenic drive that’s not for the faint of heart.
