If you’ve ever been on a road trip, you know how important it is to stop once in a while, stretch your legs, and get a snack. Spending time at a rest stop is all part of the adventure while on a long drive. But not all rest stops are created equal. Some just have basic facilities while others have dining options, a gift shop, and more. If you’ve ever driven on the I-17 between Phoenix and Flagstaff, chances are you’ve stopped at Sunset Point Rest Area. While it doesn’t have much in the way of amenities, it has something else that most other rest stops don’t.

Located at mile marker 252 on the I-17 is Sunset Point Rest Area. It's perhaps the most popular rest area in the state and there are some good reasons why.
