Arizona might not be known for German food, but that doesn’t mean it doesn’t exist around here! This long-standing restaurant serves the state’s very best schnitzel, and it’s the perfect meal to warm your belly on a cold night.
For nearly 25 years, Haus Murphy's has been the valley's premier destination for authentic German cuisine. It's nestled right in the heart of Historic Downtown Glendale, making the already eclectic community even more diverse.
There are five different schnitzels on the menu, each one providing a flavor experience all its own. Pictured below is the Wiener Schnitzel, which is made from veal and garnished with a lemon wedge.
This is the Chicken Schnitzel, breaded and sauteed until golden brown and served with a white wine mushroom sauce. Other variations feature pork and sirloin, and all schnitzels are accompanied by German fried potatoes and seasonal herb-buttered vegetables.
If schnitzel doesn't float your boat, there are plenty of other dishes guaranteed to satisfy every palate. It's hard not to smile when you're chowing down on a giant soft pretzel with butter, spicy mustard, and cheese sauce for dipping - especially when a tall glass of quality beer is involved!
You’ll find the Haus Murphy’s at 5739 W Glendale Ave., Glendale, AZ 85301. The restaurant is open Tuesday through Saturday from noon to 9 p.m. and on Sunday from noon to 8 p.m. For more delicious details, check out the mouthwatering menu on Haus Murphy’s website and follow along on their Facebook page here.
