These 8 Unique Ice Cream Shops In Arizona Will Make Your Sweet Tooth Go CRAZY
Any of the big ice cream trio–Baskin Robbins, Cold Stone, and Dairy Queen–can be found and enjoyed across the state. However, we believe the hometown shops make the best experiences with homemade ice cream and unique ambiance.
1. Hub Restaurant & Ice Creamery, Tucson
This place errs on the expensive, hipster side but you can’t deny they have some amazing ice cream flavors. Bourbon almond brittle, honey ginger, and bananutella to name a few.
2. MacAlpine’s Soda Fountain, Phoenix
Located on 7th Street, MacAlpine’s vintage flair matches right up with the other quirky restaurants in the area.
3. Nami, Phoenix
If you’re lactose intolerant, looking for a vegan alternative to ice cream, or just want some vegan donuts, check out this place. Down the street from McAlpine’s, it is a sweet tooth haven for vegetarians and vegans alike.
4. Scoops Ice Cream & Espresso, Payson
Tell you what, next time you’re in the area, skip Starbucks and visit this place. Grab an espresso for the adults and ice cream for the kids after your next hike along the Mogollon Rim.
5. The Screamery Handcrafted Ice Cream, Tucson
Here’s another place to get some delicious homemade ice cream in some unique flavors. One bizarre example is their bacon and bourbon flavored ice cream.
6. Solano’s Homemade Ice Cream Factory, Yuma
Have a craving for maple bacon ice cream? You can find that and a number of other flavors that will overwhelm your taste buds.
7. Sugar Bowl Ice Cream Parlor, Scottsdale
Inside this pink building you'll find a bowl of sugar indeed. Try balancing all of that ice cream with one of their lunch items.
8. Sweet Republic, Scottsdale
If you are looking for an ice cream location in the East Valley, Sweet Republic not only offers ice by the scoop but also a variety of sundaes, milkshakes, and floats.
Honorable Mention, Mary Coyle Ol’ Fashioned Ice Cream
For generations, Phoenix families enjoyed an old fashioned ice cream experience in the bright pink shop. Although the site has closed, there have been plans to open a mobile version of their ice cream shop in the near future.
