There’s A Wildlife Park In Arizona That’s Perfect For A Family Day Trip
If you’re trying to figure out some of the best ways to spend a day with your family, then we know of just the spot for you. If your kiddos love animals and parks, then you’ll want to check out this park that is a wonderful hidden gem in central Arizona.
Welcome to the Heritage Park Zoological Sanctuary, a nonprofit animal sanctuary located in Prescott.
Heritage Park Zoological Sanctuary is located in Prescott next to the Willow Creek Reservoir.
Start here at the entrance...
...and get ready to explore this little wildlife park that serves as the permanent home to rescued wildlife.
The main attraction here, as you can imagine, is getting a chance to see wildlife up close! The park is home to some of your favorite animals, including mountain lions, tigers, and bears...
...plus reptiles, birds, and small animals.
Each of the animals living here at the sanctuary has a story behind how they arrived, including those that were kept as exotic pets or rescued from dire living situations.
But checking out the animals in their enclosures isn't the only thing you'll do when visiting Heritage Park. There are plenty of other fun activities you can sign up for! One exemplary example is that you can enjoy breakfast with the animals.
This includes participating in an animal feeding, learning more about the animal, eating your own breakfast, and a craft activity for the kids.
There are also behind-the-scenes tours where you can get up close and personal with some of your favorite animals.
The photography tour is especially fun if you've been itching to shoot some photos!
There are plenty of educational opportunities here as well for school trips, special day camps during school breaks, and volunteer programs for teens.
There's even a playground for the little kids to wear off a bit of energy before heading home.
Heritage Park Zoological Sanctuary is located at 1403 Heritage Park Road in Prescott. You can find details about the park’s hours of operation, animals, programs, and more by visiting
their website or Facebook page.
