Waking up to breathtaking waterfront views isn’t a luxury limited to faraway island paradises – that very same experience is available to us right here in Arizona! Alamo Lake State Park, located in Wenden, boasts over 110 campsites, many of which directly overlook the crystal-clear waters of the 3,500-acre lake. RV and tent sites, as well as four beautiful cabins are also available, so there’s plenty of space for all your adventures.
Tucked away in a remote corner of western Arizona, Alamo Lake State Park offers an idyllic escape from the daily grind.
One of the state's premier bass fishing locations, the park boasts an abundance of outdoor activities on and around its crystal-clear lake waters, with the added bonus of 360-degree mountain views.
If you're a fish at heart, you can expect to spend most of your time swimming, boating, and casting your line out on the 3,500-acre lake.
All types of watercraft are allowed, and there are three boat ramps to launch from (one is continuously available, while the other two operate based on the water level.) As far as fishing goes, largemouth bass is the most abundant catch, but you'll also see sizable populations of crappie and tilapia. The park also offers unparalleled wildlife viewing opportunities, with some of the native species including bald eagles, mule deer, and wild burros.

No matter what shenanigans you plan on getting into, a spacious campground lets you keep the fun going for as many days as you'd like.
Six separate campgrounds - labeled A through F - each vary in their amenities and number of sites, so no matter your unique needs and preferences, rest assured you'll have a comfortable place to settle in for the evening. All of the campgrounds are just a short stroll from the lake, with many of the sites (mainly in campgrounds B and E) offering direct views of the waterfront from your tent or RV.

Campground A has 17 basic sites (with back-in and pull-through capability) that go for $15 per night, per vehicle.
Campground B features 42 mixed amenity sites ranging from $15 to $22, while Campground C boasts 40 water and electric sites with a nightly rate of $22.
Dry camping is available in campgrounds D and E, and each site has both a picnic table and fire ring. The cost for dry camping is $15 per night, per vehicle.
The final campground, Campground F, offers 15 full hookup sites for $25 per night.
For those who prefer a more luxurious overnight experience, the park offers four cabins that directly overlook Alamo Lake and the surrounding desert landscape.
Each cabin has two bunk beds that sleep up to four guests, with amenities including four chairs, electricity, two ceiling fans, lights, A/C and heat, plus a picnic table, charcoal grill, and fire ring outside. The nightly rate is $65, and reservations are required. You can book your stay up to a year in advance, which we recommend taking advantage of as the demand is so high.
