The lodge sits on a gorgeous lake, where floatplanes arrive in summer, and ski planes land in winter.
The property itself hosts the lodge with guest rooms, main rooms for socializing, a bar, hot tub, and wellness room where groups can do yoga or stretches twice a day with an instructor. There are also six private cabins on the property for those who would like a little more privacy.
The cabins are all rustic luxury, dotted across the acreage and each situated with incredible views.
Each cabin offers at least one beautiful queen bed, with some of the cabins sleeping up to seven people in three separate bedrooms. All of the cabins are log cabins, and have their own private bathrooms and lounging areas.

There is a fabulous bar in the main lodge, where guests can come and gather together after a long day exploring Alaska's wilderness.
The bar in the evenings offers wine tastings, and appetizers before dinner. The cheeses for the appetizers are flown in weekly from Murray’s Cheese Shop in Manhattan. Cooking classes are also offered in the early evening, at 4:00 p.m. in the main lodge.
There is also a sled dog kennel on the property. This is a perfect place to have one, due to the fact that Winterlake Lodge is an Iditarod checkpoint!
You have the option in the winter to join a four day mushing school! There are also sled dog tours available, as well as instruction on how to drive your own team. You have the option of choosing a more demanding, long sled dog tour, or an easy pass around the lake for beginners.
Your stay offers a multitude of helicopter adventures, if you want!
From everything from heli-sking and snowboarding in partnership with Tordrillo Mountain Lodge, to adventures into the backcountry, there's something for everyone! Check out Wolverine Mountains behind the lodge, or explore a glacier!
There's so many gorgeous options for winter activities out of the lodge. With everything supplied, you can choose between many man or machine powered activities.
The most popular are snowshoeing, or backcountry skiing. It's a perfect opportunity to spy on the nearby wildlife's winter activities. You can even take a lunch with you, and make it an a longer, 5 mile trek around the property. Looking for something a little more expansive? The lodge also offers snow machine tours, where you can check out seven different maintained trails on the property. This can also be an all day affair, with lunch provided for the adventurous that would like to head out far and see a variety of terrain!
