This beautiful little trail will take you through gorgeous forest and show off peekaboo views. It’s a wonderful afternoon stroll for most skill levels!
Kodiak islands climate is temperate, with lots of annual rainfall.
This trail really highlights that as you walk through lots of green flora! While you stroll, feast your eyes on many different types of trees and plants that flourish with all that rain.
You’ll see many large, impressive trees.
Get up close and personal with these beauties, and check out their interesting moss patterns! This type of tree, the Sitka Spruce, is very common in coastal Alaskan communities.
The trail follows the northern part of the island’s coastline.
You’ll travel past stunning views of the water before ending at a secret little beach. Take the time to explore this area, as you may even see some interesting marine life like sea otters!
This hike is an easy two mile loop.
It’s a trail dotted with lots of wildflowers, and a couple of hills, but nothing too hard! The elevation gain is only three hundred feet total.
This trail is even popular in the winter!
Its easy accessibility makes it perfect for a light winter workout. Grab some good cleats and get out on the trail so you can admire the snow covered beaches.
