15 Reasons Alaska Is The Happiest State In America
For those of us that already live in Alaska, it comes as no surprise to learn that the mighty Last Frontier was recently ranked as the #1 ‘happiest place to live in America’ from a recent American well-being index by Gallup-Healthways. With a strong feeling of purpose in the great nation of America along with a sense of contentment, Alaska residents are generally very happy and at peace with the place that they call home.
This study also included areas such as collective feelings of financial security, community pride and good health. Because we love to work hard and play harder, while always keeping our cultural values and our beloved families as a top priority, this too makes perfect sense. Which brings us to our next point; Alaska was ranked #2 on this other study documenting the overall happiest and healthiest states in the US. Here we fell second in line to the incredibly beautiful state of Hawaii, which also happens to be a favorite vacation destination for Alaskans.
We’re aware that these uncertain times are limiting many aspects of life as we all practice social and physical distancing. While we’re continuing to feature destinations that make our state wonderful, we don’t expect or encourage you to go check them out immediately. We believe that supporting local attractions is important now more than ever and we hope our articles inspire your future adventures!
