Stroll Through Alaska’s Holiday Lights In The Botanical Gardens This Christmas Season
If you’re looking for a little holiday magic, the Alaska Botanical Gardens in Anchorage hosts a holiday light walk that will fill you with cheer! Bring the whole family to walk amongst the colorful decorations and enjoy an evening out. You may even catch a night with a bonfire and hot chocolate!
This magical experience takes place in Anchorage, Alaska, and this is its second year running!
Walk through the lovely trails that cut through 110 acres of gardens, and be dazzled by the festive light displays. Everywhere you look, cheery twinkling colors will surround you!
Every week hosts fabulous performances of live music.
Find favorites like the Carhartt Brothers and Turnagain Blues, or stroll through the trails to the lovely sounds of the Anchorage Mandolin Orchestra. No matter what your style of music, there's a night worth visiting!
Inside the large greenhouse find local vendors displaying their wares.
Do a little Christmas shopping and support local Alaskan artisans at the same time! They also have beautiful model train displays on view inside this incredible building.
Some weeks they even have "Read Aloud" story time, with the classic The Polar Express.
Check the calendar on their website to verify which dates they're offering it. It will always be from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.!
On Friday nights you can find a warm bonfire in the gardens.
Bring a mug and fill it with hot cocoa, and roast a marshmallow over the fire. This is a great way to start or end the evening festivities!
The gardens will be closed on Christmas Day and New Year's Day.
Between live music, book readings, local craftsman, and beautiful twinkling holiday lights, this is an event not to be missed! You can't purchase tickets in advance, so make sure to get there early to grab a spot.
