There’s No Restaurant In The World Like This One In Alaska
If groovy, different and totally unique is what makes your heart smile –
The Double Musky Inn in Girdwood is where you need to head for dinner. The Mardi Gras style of decor, exquisitely lively and efficient staff, beautiful stained glass, warm solarium and epic (and seemingly never-ending) wine cellar is what makes this one of the most happenin’ places in all of Alaska. Oh wait, did we mention the food? The food is EVERYTHING and so much more. Visitors can enjoy New Orleans style Cajun cooking with delicious steaks and mouthwatering wild Alaska seafood. We would argue to the moon and back that there is absolutely, positively no restaurant in the world like this one in Alaska!
Come one, come all to the most scrum-diddily-umptious restaurant in all of the ski towns in the world. The Double Musky Inn is truly the cat's meow. It is what "Willis is talkin' about" and a restaurant that offers service on a level that everyone dreams of writing home about.
From the second you step inside, the groovy flair of this cajun hot spot will win your heart. You will find yourself oohing and ahhing about all of the cool sights and vintage decor. The dim lighting will instantly make you feel like you are at home - warm and cozy. As you look around at the packed house (yes, it's like - always packed) you will be impressed by how the well-orchestrated machine is churning out dish after dish with smiles at every single table in house.
If the line is a little long and you have a wait in store, you're likely to want to head over to the bar for a pre-dinner drink. As you sip on a cold beverage and try to engage in converstation with your guest, you might notice that you have to talk rather loud to actually hear each other. This might be because it's a busy night after a great day of skiing on the mountain, and people are just having straight out FUN. You'll hear endless laughter and happiness in the background. And why, you might ask? Because there is just something about this place that makes people come alive. No matter what kind of day you had, once you're here - it's impossible to be anything but ecstatic.
If you're someone who enjoys a good glass of wine, you guessed it - this place is definitely for you! The selection is seemingly endless and your heart will probably skip a beat like a child in a candy store. If you find yourself skipping, don't worry - you won't be judged.
Hit the restroom to wash up before your meal and enjoy even more groovy pieces of flair. If anyone asks what took you so long, just tell them that they wouldn't understand unless they experienced it for themselves. I mean really, where else can you go and say that even the bathroom experience was cool? Pretty rad and ultimately tubular if you ask us!
Let your eyes get the most colorful dose of eye-candy by checking out all of the incredible stained glass pieces. Unique adornments make this place so much fun to visit (you'll truly never want to leave). And we can't forget the GREAT service. Service is everything. And the service here is all that and a bag o' potato chips. Expect your service staff to be fun, charming, witty and incredibly knowledgeable. Best of all, the excellent service is CONSISTENT. Talk about a place that really has their priorities in check (which makes for an excellent dining experience).
Sit in the solarium and soak up endless UV rays through the large windows while eating your delicious food. In the wintertime, the sun room is extra special because you get up-close-and-personal views of with light and fluffy feels of winter wonderland in Alaska.
Now on to the (really) good stuff. The food is so good that you will likely need to comment after every single bite that you take. It's beyond O-M-G worthy and totally taken up to a notch that is out of this world. The French pepper steak is from another planet of deliciousness. Others rave about the shrimp ettoufee, shrimp and sausage jambalaya, lobster kabobs and salmon au poirve.
No trip is complete without dessert at the Double Musky Inn. Kids and adults alike will have no problem diving in head first.
Be sure to sign the guestbook on your way out and document what you loved about your trip to the Double Musky Inn! Oh and if you need to write a novel to truly capture your incredible experience, just know that it wouldn't be the first time. 😉
