What are some things to do near Cheaha State Park?

After exploring Cheaha State Park, the surrounding area has plenty to see and experience. Some of the best things to do near Cheaha State Park include:

Cheaha State Park is surrounded by nearly 400,000 acres of pure wilderness – an area known as the Talladega National Forest. Many recreational trails lead through the forest.

  • Historic downtown districts

The nearby towns of Oxford, Heflin, Anniston, Talladega, Lineville, Munford, and Ashland all offer excellent shopping, dining, arts and culture, and recreational opportunities.

One of three main routes leading to and from Cheaha State Park, the Talladega Scenic Drive offers beautiful views. It is also well-maintained and accessible to all types of vehicles, including sedans.

  • Pinhoti Trail

The Pinhoti National Recreation Trail is a 335-mile long-distance hiking trail within both Alabama and Georgia. Its southern terminus is on Flagg Mountain.
