If the highest point in the state of Georgia doesn't bring you a necessary break or some beauty, then I don't know what would. This truly serene point provides endless views in every direction, plus magical sunsets like you've never seen before.
Cloudland Canyon State Park truly provides endless amounts of opportunities for a welcomed break. Whether you're hiking to the breathtaking waterfalls, or sleeping under the stars, you can disappear for a few days to enjoy the solitude of your surroundings.
The beauty of Yonah Mountain isn't experienced by too many people. Which is a true shame, as this forest is filled with wildflowers, incredible views, and opportunities for solitude along the way.
A true hidden gem of the Georgia Park System, Magnolia Springs offers peace and quiet to those who seek it out. Walk around the park and take it all in, or bring a blanket and just sit in the sunshine. There is no wrong way to enjoy the stillness of this park.
Luckily for us, Georgia has both the forest and the coast. Which means the next time you need a little break, head on over to Jekyll Island. Just sitting on the shoreline, especially closer to sunset, will bring a sense of tranquility unlike anything you've ever experienced.
The most underrated waterfall in Georgia is also one of the most relaxing. With just a short hike you will find yourself at the bottom of this 65-foot waterfall. Bring a blanket, bring a hammock, and enjoy the solitude that this piece of nature offers to all.
Lake Lanier is one of the biggest lakes in the state, and one of the most ideal spots to snag a moment to yourself. Sit along the water's edge and find serenity watching the sun dip slowly below the horizon. The less inhabited the part of the lake, the better!
At almost 200-feet high, Toccoa Falls is breathtaking to see in person. It is easy to grab a moment for yourself, or take a break from it all, especially when you close your eyes and listen to the cascading water hit gently against the pool below.
One of the best places to get away from it all is the Chattahoochee-Oconee National Forest. With over 850,000 acres of land, there is no doubt that you'll find a little slice or paradise to call your own. Stick to the trails or find your own campground for an inexpensive vacation away.
There is nothing more relaxing than cruising down the road at the Wormsloe Historic Site and watching the sun filter through the looming branches of the Spanish Oaks. For a moment, you can simply forget the world around you.
Toward the southern end of the Appalachian mountains you'll find some incredibly stunning views of Georgia. Burnt Mountain Overlook is family-friendly and free! On a perfectly clear day, you can see for miles.
