There are few places in Minnesota more secluded than the islands on some of our larger lakes. When you’re looking for a true getaway, nothing beats taking a boat ride out to your own piece of paradise. It’s the Garden Island State Recreation Area, and it’s sitting in the middle of Lake of the Woods between the Northwest Angle and Zippel Bay.
