What Are The Best Campgrounds In North Dakota?

  • Cottonwood Campground is located in the South Unit of the Theodore Roosevelt National Park, not far from the town of Medora. It has 76 campsites, all traditional camping and suited for those looking to be alone with nature. There are stunning river views, and it's pretty common to see wildlife roaming not far from your tent. This year-round campground is ideal for stargazing, and the view can be truly incredible during clear skies.
  • Cross Ranch State Park is a rustic and idyllic park, featuring some of the last undeveloped stretches along the Missouri River. The park is also home to camping opportunities year-round, including yurts that offer a little touch of comfort during the winter. Most visitors here, though, prefer to rough it old-school style, and that means pitching a tent. There are 36 standard campsites and 23 primitive campsites, as well as 8 group campsites.

What Are The Best Restaurants In North Dakota?

  • Ohm's Cafe might be the most iconic family-owned restaurant in North Dakota, a humble roadside shack in Mandan that serves some seriously delicious food. This simple cafe serves huge, delicious portions of classic breakfast foods, plus house-made pies that can stand up to mom's kitchen. This is the kind of place where you definitely won't leave hungry - we recommend the steak and eggs if you're here bright and early.
  • Rusty's Saloon and Grill, found in the town of St. Anthony, is the definition of a small-town gem - its home only has less than 30 people! So most of the visitors any given day will be driving in - for good reason, because this western-themed steakhouse offers delicious cuts of beef at a reasonable price. The whole place has a great wilderness theme that makes it ideal for a special event. If you're here on Frybread Taco Day, don't miss this authentic specialty.
