Tom Brokaw’s hometown is right here in South Dakota! Welcome to Webster, South Dakota. This town of nearly 2,000 people is most famous for being the hometown of Tom Brokaw and his family.

You'll find Webster tucked away in the northeast part of the state, and like most small towns in South Dakota, it's very quiet and peaceful.
Growing up, Brokaw's father worked as a construction foreman for the Army Corps of Engineers before he moved on to the Black Hills Ordnance Depot.

It was a job that moved the family around the state all through Tom's childhood and adolescence.
By the time Tom started high school, the family had settled in Yankton.
