Roaring Run Falls Is A Picturesque, 2-Mile Trail In Virginia

This relatively accessible trail through the mountains promises incredible scenery and even a picturesque waterfall to admire. Ready for a scenic adventure that promises beautiful sights along the way? Roaring Run Falls is a well-maintained loop trail near Eagle Rock, Virginia. The trailhead is approximately 40 minutes from Roanoke.

The loop, which is also referred to as the Hoop Hole Trail, measures just 1.7 miles in length and follows a stream for the duration of the trail. In fact, you can hear the tranquil sound of running water as you begin the hike.

The trail is marked by a series of stream crossings, which are both scenic and convenient (you won't have to worry about getting your feet wet unless you want to cool off!).

Things get even more exciting as you approach the series of cascades. During warmer months, hikers enjoy cooling off in the pools below the falls.

Depending on the level of rainfall, these falls can be relatively modest to full-on roaring as the trail name implies.

Before you reach the end of the loop, you'll come upon another unique landmark. The 35-foot stone furnace was used in the 1800s and still stands today.
