Bump in the Night: The Enchanting Halloween Hike In Pittsburgh Your Whole Family Will Love

Trick or treating just might be the best part of Halloween (especially for kids). But Pittsburgh sure knows how to celebrate the bewitching holiday all month long – with pumpkin and fall festivals, glowing trails, and plenty of family-friendly activities. Still got a few spaces to fill on your October calendar? Then how about embarking on an enchanting Halloween hike in Pittsburgh that’s just the beginning of a magical evening of fun, seasonal activities?

Start a new family tradition with a visit to the annual Bump in the Night, held at the Frick Environmental Center.

Of course, one of the highlights of the evening is an enchanting night hike through Frick Park. Follow a guide as you explore the trails with the leaves crunching beneath your shoes

Then, get ready for an action-packed evening that includes pumpkin carving. At the end of the evening, take your pumpkin home with you.

You can also meet and learn about some of the area's nocturnal animals, like the owl pictured below.

Grab a seat or dance along to a musical performance.

Or, roast marshmallows over a cozy campfire. Other goodies, such as cookies, will also be served at this family-friendly event. (However, children must be three or older to attend.)

Reserve your spot at Bump in the Night, set for October 19, 20, 26, and 27, 2018. The evening's festivities run from 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. Tickets are $15 for adults and $12 for kids ages 3-9.

Bump in the Night is located at the Frick Environmental Center at 2005 Beechwood Blvd., Pittsburgh, PA 15217.
