This city is home to the first Mother's day and Memorial Day celebrations, and sits next to the Tygart Lake State Park.

The county seat of Jefferson County is full of historic places. It also has a secret underground cave!

8. Clarksburg

Clarksburg was named National Small City of the Year in 2011 by the National League of Cities. Many West Virginia businesses got their start here.
