Yes, the hills of Vermont certainly are alive in Stowe where the Von Trapps landed many years ago, but their legacy didn’t stop with what you see in the movie… The Von Trapps created the country’s first commercial cross country ski center in 1968!

The Trapp Family Lodge is located on 2,500 acres, giving you more than enough room to explore the stunning property by foot, snowshoe or xc skis.

With 37 miles of groomed trails and 62 miles of backcountry trails, it's no wonder why skiers love this spot.

Don’t have your own equipment? No problem! The resort’s Nordic center has a retail shop where you can rent or buy everything you need to spend the day on the trails.
