11 Traditions You’ll Only Understand If You’re From Ohio

Some things are sacred—and some things are just unexplainably what they are. Here in Ohio we have several traditions that we subconsciously hold to.

1) Treating the OSU vs. Michigan game like Thanksgiving…only instead of turkey there’s chicken wings, cheese balls and chips and salsa.

2) Also, making/selling buckeye necklaces/key chains during football season.

3) "Hang On Sloopy"

4) Doing this (no matter where we are):

5) And randomly yelling “O-H!” in anticipation of an “I-O!”

6) Mushroom hunting in the spring.

7) Going to Cedar Point once a year, every year.

8) Playing a game of corn hole at graduation parties, family reunions and other outdoor gatherings.

9) Attending the Circleville Pumpkin Show in the fall.

10) Also, attending multiple county fairs each year in addition to the Ohio State Fair.

11) Complaining about the weather because we’re tired of being confused by it. (It’s given us severe trust issues.)
