Driving around Kansas to see things from your windows is something we can always get behind. Unless you live in the area or make it a habit to drive every road you can, this scenic drive is one byway you might have overlooked until now. This stunning drive can be taken anytime, though we love spring and fall the most. Add this trip to your drive-by bucket list, and take a look at what awaits you!

Welcome to the scenery of Kansas, a place that many think is often too flat or too boring. Well, were here to show you otherwise!

Even to Kansans, the beautiful Gypsum Hills can seem like another state entirely. All 40+ miles of beauty stretches between Medicine Lodge and Coldwater along US-160.

Adventuring through the back roads, however, gives you different and amazing views of what is otherwise a straight shot between towns.

The stunning red rock really sticks out against our wide open skies, especially when they are vividly blue. Who wouldn't love a day out here?

What is otherwise a 30 minute drive between towns can easily turn into an all-day trip if you take enough side roads.

There is a rich Native American history in the area, and the hills are often accented with plenty of wildflowers, wildlife, and Lake Coldwater at the end.

If you love these hills enough and happen to have a few horses, you can also sign up for a local guided horseback ride through the trails here. They also hold reenactment events and more, so keep an eye out!

Do you have a favorite section of road that's just so beautiful it always brings a smile to your face? Tell us about it at this link here, your one-stop shop to showing us what you love best about Kansas.
