9 Things Every Hoosier Wants The Rest Of The Country To Know

Indiana defies many stereotypes with its diverse culture, landscapes, and attractions.

There are a lot of stereotypes out there about Indiana and as we know all too well, many of them are far from true. We figured it was about time we cleared some up. Here are 9 things every Hoosier wants the rest of the country to know.

1. We don't all listen to country music

Some of us do, some of us don't. We're a mixed bag, just like every other state.

2. We're not all crazy about the Colts

Nope. Yes, a lot of Hoosiers love the Colts and that's awesome. But, up north you'll also find a ton of Bears fans. (We're really all about basketball anyway...)

3. We don't all own tractors

Could you imagine rush hour traffic if we did?

4. Indiana actually has an amazing beach

If you've never seen Lake Michigan up close, you have no idea what you're missing.

5. Indiana isn't completely flat

Yes, we're mostly flat, but up north you'll find the hilly dunes and in the south, you'll find many rolling hills.

6. We have cities here

There are cities and small towns and restaurants and parks and incredible places, just like in every other state.

7. Indiana is not a drive through state

There are amazing things to see any time of year.

8. If you've never tried a Hoosier tenderloin sandwich, your life simply isn't complete

We dare you not to fall in love with it.

9. We're not all farmland

We love our farms, but they're just a fraction of what our gorgeous state has to offer.
