The Coal Town Christmas In West Virginia You Won’t Want To Miss This Year

Experience an "Appalachian Coal Town Christmas" at the Beckley Exhibition Mine in West Virginia. This historic mining town is now an educational center for visitors, and it's especially fun at Christmas!

The former coal town at the Beckley Exhibition Mine will be decorated for Christmas.

Horse and carriage rides will tour through the town.

There will be Christmas caroling in the town's historic church.

You can roast marshmallows by the fire.

Take a special underground tour of the mine.

The mine tours are led by former mine workers, who give visitors great insight about what life was like in the early coal mining days.

The Youth Museum next door is also part of the festivities.

There will be special planetarium shows, Christmas crafts, and other activities for children.

The Appalachian Coal Town Christmas event will take place November 25 - 26 and December 2 - 3., from 5:00 pm - 9:00 pm.

The cost is $12 per adult and $6 per child. All activities are included in the price.
