Opening back up for the year again in May, North Creek's Revolution Rail caused quite the excited frenzy around New York in 2017. The highly-desired outdoor attraction gets adventurers to ride along railroad tracks with the help of self-propelled bikes that are great to enjoy with friends and family. Taking you through the Adirondack forest and over the Hudson River, each tour usually takes about two hours and is great for all ages.

Located all the way out in the Long Island town of Montauk, Camp Hero State Park has become an even more popular place to visit over the last couple of years due to the Netflix series Stranger Things. Assuming that you haven't been living under a rock since 2016, the main premise of the show is about the uncomfortable history that surrounds this New York state park out along the ocean. A beautiful park worth visiting out on Long Island, Avalon Park and Preserve is a privately owned park that makes a major effort to maintain such a beautiful outdoor space for locals. The charming park is home to a popular Labyrinth, nature trails and even its own Sky Lab. Just outside of Rochester in the delightful town of Pittsford, the Pittsford Farms Dairy is one of our favorite small town places to visit. The historic farm has its own store that you can visit where you'll be able to shop around for amazing bakery items, milk, eggnog, gourmet pizza and deliciously good ice cream flavors. Usually leaving you with an arm full of goodies to bring back home with you, it's always an amazingly dangerous idea to arrive here on an empty stomach.

Last year we talked about how the Mohonk Mountain House is home to one of New York's most unique beaches, and if you didn't manage to make it there last year you'll certainly want to plan a trip for 2018! The beautiful Victorian castle that overlooks Lake Mohonk features over 80-miles of hiking trails (like New York's Lemon Squeeze hike) and a private beach that only those with access to the resort can enjoy.

Just over an hour southwest of Albany, the small town of Prattsville is where you can find New York's very own little Mount Rushmore. Right off of Route 23, a steep but scenic hike will lead you to stunning views of Schoharie Creek and the historic Pratt Rock stone carvings that remain today. Part of the National Register of Historic Places, Pratt Rock is said by many to be the earliest Civil War monument in America.

Just one of the many amazing things that you'll find within New York's Allegany State Park, if you take the time to explore the Quaker Area you'll discover our famous Thunder Rocks. Similar to places like Olean's Rock City, New York's Thunder Rocks come in all different shapes and sizes and can be climbed up and fully explored.
