You Won’t Want To Miss These Incredible Fireworks Shows In Connecticut This Year

Discover the best fireworks displays in Connecticut to celebrate Independence Day.

The Fourth of July is just around the corner, and that means fireworks. Our collection of 2016 fireworks was pretty epic, but our pick for this year is even better. If you've been asking yourself "where can I find fireworks near me?" we have the answer! These firework displays in Connecticut are the perfect way to celebrate Independence Day. Check them out now:

Our state certainly has its fair shows of fireworks but we've highlighted our top five picks below to help you get started.

1. Candlewood Lake Fireworks, Danbury

One of the most popular Lake destinations, this place is also the site of a great fireworks show. This is one of the earlier shows, taking place on June 24. This event takes place at dusk and if you happen to have a boat it can also be viewed from the water. I'd come early because bay seats fill up pretty fast. This family friendly affair is all about making a bang, literally, so it skips the frills and goes straight to the show.

2. 3-D Fireworks, Quassy Amusement Park

On July 4th, this lakefront fireworks show is the place to be. Special viewing glasses make the fireworks show larger than life. It starts at 10:15 so it's better suited for an older crowd. Parking will cost you $8 and the glasses are $1 but it's totally worth it. Afterall, where else can you get 3-D fireworks?

3. RCA July 4th Fireworks, Rowayton

Hosted at Bayley Beach, there's a $40 parking charge for non-residents so you'll want to load as much of the gang in to one vehicle as possible. This is one of the most scenic shows in state and because it's at the beach you don't have to wait until 9:15 to enjoy it. Make it a day trip and reserve your spot early before the crowds start showing up. This 30 minute performance should not be missed!

4. Fourth of July Town Celebration, Enfield

This three day celebration is July 7-9 with the fireworks display on the final day. Craft vendors, live music and a children's activity area make it perfect for the whole family. Tens of thousands of people show up for this explosive show every year. Likely because this the largest fireworks display in Northern Connecticut! But the best part is that admission is free.

5. Sailfest, New London

Here's another three day festival from July 7-9, so you can choose whichever one is closest to you. Free entertainment and waterfront views puts this one at the top of the list. Fireworks are on Saturday at 9pm and they're even synced to the radio. Tune in to 100.9 and enjoy the show. Since it reflects on the water, it appears twice as big as its competitors.
