The Breathtaking Homestead In Wyoming You Must Visit This Year
Despite being a state known for outdoor beauty and recreation, there are actually tons of other things to enjoy in Wyoming. From trails to museums, you’ll find quite a bit of history in addition to all the other fun. Of course, our favorite is when all of these things merge! That’s why we love a visit to this historic home in Wyoming. Inside and outside offers a trip back in time, which is why Trail End Historic Site is frequently on our must-visit list.
Welcome to Trail End State Historic Site in Sheridan. The site is most famous for the mansion that sits on nearly four acres of land. Known as "Trail End," this mansion is truly spectacular.
John Kendrick, who served as both United States senator and governor of Wyoming, built the mansion to be his family's home. Construction began in 1908 and was completed in 1913.
Despite being a wonderful home, the last member of the Kendrick family moved out in 1960. Afterward, in 1968, it was purchased by the Sheridan County Historical Society.
While there's plenty to see here, we think this is the perfect day trip for those curious about Wyoming's history. The mansion offers a great way to understand more about what life was like before many of us were here.
Trail End Historic Site is open at varying times throughout the year. It’s best to check their website and Facebook to keep up with the latest information and offerings.
