See The Tallest Waterfall In Wisconsin At Pattison State Park
We all need a little bit of nature in our lives, whether we just spend a few minutes in our backyard listening to the birds or we head to one of our state parks for the day. If it’s been too long since you’ve spent time outdoors, plan a visit to see the tallest waterfall in Wisconsin, a breathtaking natural wonder. Then spend the rest of the day exploring.
Escape from the drudgery of everyday life when you visit Pattison State Park in Superior, a breathtaking area that spans more than 1,400 acres.
Tucked in the lush state park, among the towering trees, gushes the tallest waterfall in Wisconsin. Big Manitou Falls, in fact, drops a spectacular 165 feet.
The majestic waterfall, however, isn't just the tallest in the state. It also holds the distinction of being the fourth tallest waterfall east of the Rockies.
Wear sturdy shoes or hiking boots for your trek to Big Manitou Falls. If you want to admire the waterfall from one of the nearby overlooks, head over to the main picnic area and go through the pedestrian tunnel.
However, if you're up for a challenging, albeit short, hike, embark on the Big Manitou Falls River Trail. At just half a mile, the steep trail will lead you through a wooded area to the falls.
The two-mile Beaver Trail promises plenty of natural beauty, from forested areas to local wildlife, and you'll keep following the Black River to arrive at the waterfall.
