Smokey's, named after Dana "Smokey" Morton, opened in 1986, but has gone through a fairly recent renovation. The rustic appearance of the restaurant is offset by its gourmet selections.
As the name implies, Smokey's serves steaks, but they also have several other selections, which change from day to day, but the menu usually offers steak and some other selections, such as fish, pork or duck.
You can enjoy your meal inside or on the deck, either for breakfast or dinner. The breakfast is served buffet style, apparently serving the best bacon this side of the Ohio. They also serve wine, cocktails and a number of non-alcoholic drinks to pair with your meal.
Smokey's is mainly open in the warmer months - May through October - but occasionally have themed events in the winter, such as a murder mystery dinners, beer and wine tastings and holiday-centric meals.
Their murder mysteries are especially interesting. An upcoming one in February 2018 is based on a sci-fi/steampunk theme in the year 2099 and another one later in the year has a magical, Harry Potter-inspired theme.
