A water park is a classic summer destination. As adults, we remember going to the water park as a kid. Now as parents ourselves, we want to give our kids the same kind of summer fun, especially if its the kind of fun we can engage in as well. If that is the case, Water Ways in Julian is the place for you.
Water Ways Park is a great place for the whole family to beat the summer heat while enjoying everything a water park has to offer.
Water Ways is a park designed for all ages. It features an Olympic-sized swimming pool, and The Lazy River, a narrow waterway that circles the park like an artificial tributary. It is a great area to float lazily around the area (hence the name) on a water tube provided by the staff.
The water park also features five giant slides. Two of these are body slides that dump into the main pool and another is a tube slide that spills into The Lazy River. The slides loop around in a dizzying enjoyable descent your kids will want to go down again and again. You will probably want to do the same.
In the center of the park is Kiddie Island, designed for smaller children who have not yet become strong swimmers. Kiddie Island features a splash pool, a slide, a swing, and a water umbrella.
The park also has an open cooler policy if you wish to plan a picnic while there. They also provide vending machines for snacks and drinks.
Another great feature of the park is the Gift Shop, which offers shirts, swim trunks, sunglasses, sunblock, pool toys, and much more.
Aside from the water attractions, the park also has sheltered picnic areas and even a hiking trail. Both are great for a lunch break and a little excursion away from the water while your food digests. The park even has a mini-golf course!
Admission to the park is $5 for children under 44 inches, which includes the lazy river, the pool, and Kiddie Island. Children under this height are not permitted on the big water slides. For children taller than 44 inches, admission is $12 and includes water tubes. Both fares include unlimited mini-golf.
As you can see, there is so much to do in this park and you can easily spend a whole day there. The only problem you might encounter is trying to get your kids to leave.
