Contrary to what may be the popular belief, things at the notoriously haunted Trans-Allegheny Lunatic Asylum aren't always filled with the doom and gloom of spirits stuck here for eternity. On Easter Sunday, the haunted former state insane asylum will host its 12th Annual Easter Egg Hunt and it promises to be a fun-filled event for the kiddos.
This year, an impressive 12,000 eggs will be scattered and hidden on the front lawn of the massive property.
The event is free and open to all children ages 10 and under.
In an effort to prevent total chaos, the organizers have set aside specific lawn areas assigned to specific ages.
What a fun day it will be in the shadow of the normally gloomy estate. You'll be hard-pressed to get Easter memories quite like these anywhere else!
Once the hunt is over, pop open each egg your child finds and look for special prize tickets!
Registration begins at noon by the fountain at the main entrance to the building.
The 12 Annual Easter Egg Hunt is free and open to the public. Only children 10 and under can take part in the hunt (parents are allowed to accompany their children.) Registration begins at noon on Sunday, April 21, 2019.
