Tukwila is five minutes from the SeaTac airport, home to one of Washington's most massive shopping malls, and full of hidden gems ranging from nature trails to delicious restaurants. And while you won't even have to leave the property to enjoy a perfect staycation at Tukwila's Hotel Interurban, it's nice to know that you'll be surrounded by fun.
Hotel Interurban is located at 223 Andover Park E in Tukwila, just a few blocks from the Westfield Southcenter mall.
Believe it or not, a Circuit City used to occupy this space. But for the last three years, it has been a marvelous hotel.
Hotel Interurban is privately owned, and you'll find touches of the owners' unique tastes all over the property ...
... especially in this adorable mini flock of sheep, which you'll find under the lobby stairs.
The group of sheep doesn't really have a backstory, but if you stick around long enough, you'll definitely witness a dog or two barking at them.
Given its location, the hotel sees a lot of business travelers, some of which fly in and out of town at odd hours -- so the amenities are available early (and late).
The fitness center is open 24 hours, while the pool is open from 5 a.m. until 11 p.m. The rooms are spacious, comfortable, and come with invigorating bath products and fluffy white robes.
Hotel restaurants can be hit or miss. But the on-site restaurant and lounge, Rendition, is magnificent.
When you're in town, don't even bother searching for anything better -- everything you need is right here.
From classic comfort food like hearty burgers and steaks to more sophisticated entrees like smoked black cod, this place has it all.
The Northwest-inspired menu has quite a few small plates and graze boards, so you can nibble throughout the night and taste your way around the menu.
The space inside Rendition is sophisticated, modern, and effortlessly relaxing.
The art wall features a mural so intricate, you'll want to be seated next to her for your meal.
After a nice, restful night -- which will be easy since you won't hear planes despite being so close to SeaTac -- treat yourself to a coffee and a casual morning meal at Urban Roast.
This is not your average hotel coffee shop. The coffee is roasted locally by a lifelong resident, all food items (including the delicious donuts) are made in-house, and the walls are decked out with vibrant local art, which happens to be for sale.
Hotel Interurban is truly a hidden gem. Whether you're staying before a flight, for a game in Seattle, or during a shopping adventure, you won't believe how warm and welcoming it is. And the best part is, it's shockingly affordable to stay here given all its amenities. See for yourself.
